Colorado is one of the healthiest states in the union. In fact, as far as a career as a massage therapist, it may be the perfect place to build a thriving practice. Why? Consider this: the U.S. is the fattest industrialized nation in the world. According to the Centers for Disease Control website, here's where we stand on obesity:
"During the past 20 years there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States. . . . In 2007, only one state (Colorado) had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%. Thirty states had prevalence equal to or greater than 25%; three of these states (Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee) had a prevalence of obesity equal to or greater than 30%."
With its mountainous trails and beautiful scenery, it's no wonder that its citizens are active and in good health. And, they undoubtedly like their massages. This brings us to the next obvious question, "What should you be looking for in Colorado massage therapy schools."
